Lawrence County Assessor

The Lawrence County Assessor's Office maintains property records for all townships. The property record cards contain the assessed value of the property based on the Market Value in use. We also maintain sales information of properties sold for the entire county.

*NOTICE OF ANNUAL SESSION AND MEETING*

Pursuant to IC 6-1.1-28-6, notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of Lawrence County that the Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals will meet April 18th, 2024 at 10:00a.m., in the Lawrence County Courthouse located at 916 15th Street, Bedford, Indiana, 47421, to reorganize and will continue in session intil all business is concluded.

Property Tax Assessment

Real Property 

Real Property is assessable on January 1st of each year
Property taxes are paid in the Treasurer's Office on the main floor of the courthouse by May 10th and November 10th.  Your taxes are based on the assessed value of your property on January 1st of the prior year.

Business and Farm Tangible Personal Property

Our office will only accept paper copies of the Business or Farm Tangible Personal Property Forms.  We will not accept faxes or emailed forms.  Forms can be brought in person or mailed to our office at:

 Personal Property Tax

Personal Property is based on property owned January 1st. Forms are filed annually by May 15th. It is the taxpayer's responsibility to complete the forms.

Personal Property Forms:

For Farms please fill out the Form 102 and the Form 104
Business can choose between the Form 103 Short and Form 103 Long  please read the criteria  at the top of the forms to decide which is the correct form to use.  All form103’s must be accompanied by a form 104.

Personal Property Manufactured Homes are also assessable each year on January 1.  These homes are assessable and taxable in the same year.
